SuperGreen® is produced using an efficient and zero waste process that generates carbon credit. A by-product of sugar production, bagasse, is used as the energy source for the distillery while the by-product from distillation is used as fertilizer on the sugar cane plantation. SuperGreen® uses a biostil production system which reduces waste and impurities. Also, we use cane bagasse as our source of energy, enabling our production process to be 100% coal-free. According to National Geographic October 2007 [Vol. 212, No. 4], cane has the highest energy conversion rate out of all the feedstock. Ethanol made from corn will yield 1.3 units of energy for every 1 unit of fossil-fuel energy utilized to create it. On the other hand, ethanol made from cane will yield 8 units of energy for every 1 unit of fossil-fuel energy utilized to create it. Therefore, using SuperGreen® results in a significant decrease in carbon emissions. |
